To Invoke is to call forth, to call in, to summon, to invite to the party we call The Provocation of Crones.
We call upon the Ancient and Ancestral Crones. We invite the Matron Goddesses. We summon forth the Archetypal Wise Women from Myth and Story. We seek the insight and foresight of Contemporary Crones of note. They come winging and whispering through the ark of ages, carrying their infinite Wisdom, Guidance and Protection. Cackling, laughing, screeching, singing, they come to delight and uplift us. Crooning, whispering, gentling, they arrive to deliver healing and bestow blessing upon us.
INVOKE is a calling in of POWER and ALLIES
We are the living, breathing Daughters woven of their magic, dreaming, and desire. Of course they come to our aid! Of course they envelope us in their long robes, their white hair, their wrinkled hands. We are the beloved, longed-for manifestation of their power. We receive their substantial Guidance, Wisdom, and Protection.
We cultivate a reciprocal relationship with The Crones, intent upon restoring them to their rightful roles, recognizing and uplifting their names and blessings–by acknowledging our birthright as women–Maidens, Mothers, Crones.
INVOKE is a series of rituals.
As we familiarize ourselves with their suppressed histories, we reimagine and re-member our own. As we stand in awe of their awesome power, we move toward reclaiming our own.
We gaze unflinchingly into the dark mirror they hold for us, asking, “Where have you rejected, neglected, denied or repressed your Crone self, your Wise Woman, your Fierce Mother? To what end?”
INVOKE is a history/herstory/yourstory lesson.
We do this together, with each other and Them. Because Crones know we can’t do this alone.
